Dear Rob, I am heartbroken. The recent violence and tragic loss of life in southern Israel and Gaza is truly unprecedented. I mourn the loss of all lives and pray for those who have lost loved ones. FCNL unequivocally condemns these horrific attacks and inhumane treatment of civilians by Hamas. We call for the immediate release of all hostages. We also condemn the indiscriminate and violent Israeli response that has already claimed hundreds of civilian lives. There have been egregious violations of international law on all sides, and we fear this may be just the beginning. Your voice is needed to help stop the violence. Please join us in urging Congress to call for an immediate ceasefire, de-escalation, restraint, and respect for international law to prevent further civilian harm.
War is not the answer. Policymakers in the United States must refrain from further militarizing this conflict through additional weapons transfers, and work to ensure that U.S. military assistance is never used to violate Palestinian human rights. Year after year, we have seen that violence begets more violence. Our past responses have failed to end the bloodshed. Only by addressing the underlying issues—including ending decades of institutionalized oppression and collective punishment of Palestinians through brutal military occupation and a 16-year Gaza blockade—will Israelis and Palestinians have a chance to finally live in peace. Act now: urge Congress to prioritize an immediate de-escalation in Israel and Palestine. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to peace in the Middle East.
P.S. Please join us for a time of prayer and reflection tomorrow, Oct. 10, at 5:15 p.m. EDT. Togeter we will hold Israel and Palewstine in the Light. ![]() |
