Dear Friend, In war, civilians always pay the highest price. As the crisis in Israel and Palestine deepens following the attack by Hamas on Israel and Israel’s retaliatory violence, our voices urgently are needed. Join us online on Oct. 25 at 6:30 p.m. EDT for a special briefing. Hear from Quaker policy experts from FCNL and the American Friends Service Committee about what is happening on the ground, the response from U.S. lawmakers, and what we can do as advocates to prevent the tragic loss of more innocent Palestinian and Israeli lives.
As Quakers, we deeply mourn the loss of all lives and pray for those who have lost loved ones due to this latest escalation. We unequivocally condemn Hamas’ attacks and inhumane treatment of civilians and call for the immediate release of all hostages. We also condemn the indiscriminately violent Israeli response that has already killed thousands of civilians. It is imperative that U.S. policymakers take measures to immediately de-escalate the violence, protect civilian lives, and, ultimately, address the root causes underlying this explosion of violence. On Oct. 25, we will gather as a community in grief and action. I hope you will join us.
P.S. If you haven’t already sent a letter to Congress calling for a ceasefire, now is a great time to act. Click here to make your voice heard. |
