Dear Patricia,

Being in connection with you and the rest of the FCNL community inspires my faith and my advocacy. In a time when we must practice social distancing to protect the well-being of our neighbors, we are finding creative, new ways to connect.

That’s why—for the first time ever—Annual Meeting and Quaker Public Policy Institute is moving online! The meeting will take place Saturday, November 14-Tuesday November 17, 2020, with Quaker Public Policy Institute on November 16-17 and the Advocacy Teams summit on November 13.

As clerk of the Annual Meeting Planning Committee, I can tell you this decision was challenging but also joyful, as we considered the opportunities a virtual gathering will bring.

By meeting online we can include Friends who have been unable to travel to Washington, D.C. in the past. And the timing couldn't be better. We will gather just two weeks after one of the most pivotal elections of our lifetimes. Because of the tools and expertise FCNL has to organize telephone and video lobby visits, we are uniquely poised to make an impact.

Please mark your calendars and keep an eye out for registration, which we plan to open by mid-June.

I look forward to seeing you online soon!

Emily Abels

In Friendship,
